About the event
Beethoven's string trios, written when Beethoven was still in his 20s, are less well known than his later quartets. But they are widely recognised as forming bridge between the classical chamber music traditions of Haydn and Mozart and Beethoven’s own revolutionary approaches in his later quartets - 'pivotal not just for their contribution to chamber music, but for showcasing Beethoven’s masterful ability to develop and explore thematic material'.
